George Weasley

Astoria arched her brow at George then flicked his forehead. “I’m certain you were kidding. My fiance would never be that insensitive.” She lightly joked back, tapping his arm. She rested against the pillow on the bed, and sighed heavily. Not being able to do anything? Astoria the busy bee, being forced to sit still that sounded horrible.
“No. No apparation or floo.” The nurse chimed in answering George’s question. “Must take a car. Any sudden movements and she can go into labor. Now sir, will you be staying overnight?” She questioned looking at him, almost suspiciously as Astoria pleaded him to with her soft, blue, eyes.
George saw Astoria’s expression; he knew how hard this would be for her. Staying in bed, unable to do anything until the twins were born? He doubted that she would be able to get through the next forty-eight hours in the hospital, let alone weeks of it at home. He could get her a muggle TV, and spend as much time as possible with her, but there really wasn’t much he could do for her.
Looking back at the nurse he nearly laughed. As if anything in the world could get him to leave Astoria tonight. Getting a car could prove problematic. Maybe he could borrow one from Harry? Normally he would just buy one, but he didn’t want to worsen any of their monetary problems, or have Astoria worry about anything that she didn’t need to. His attention towards the nurse once again George smiled and shook his head, “You couldn’t make me leave if you wanted to.” He gave Astoria’s hand a reassuring squeeze.

Katie smiled, she was pleasantly surprised by all of this. Her and George hadn’t talked in years and still, as soon they did sat down to talk, it felt like they’d only each other the day before. She hadn’t sat down and just talked to someone in ages, it seemed like she was always busy. Always working, so she could provide the best life possible for Lucia, even if that meant pulling all-nighters and making 60 hours work-weeks. A sincere smile appeared on her lips. “Thank you so much George, you can’t even imagine what that means to me. And trust me when I say, I will keep it in mind.”
She chuckled, shaking her head. “You know, you sound exactly like Lucia right now, she keeps saying that too. The kid is way too mature for her age, but I guess that’s what you guy when you grow up with one parent.” Nodding as she thought about Lucia, she looked back up at George. “She’s the most wonderful kid you’ll ever meet, just wait until she turns up at the shop, you’ll see what I mean.”
Katie sighed, rubbing her face with both her hands, it’s been a long day once more. “But that’s enough about me and the depressing beginning of my new life. Tell me more about you! You and… Astoria,” it still felt weird to say, but if George was happy with her, she had to be a good woman. “What have you been doing all those years?”
George grinned at her, he really did want to meet Lucia, and it was so good to catch up with Katy after far too long. He could see that the idea of him and Astoria was odd to her, but it didn’t bother him. Most people wouldn’t understand, and, thinking about it, they had only known each other for a few months. It was one of the kind of relationships that George would have hear about before him and Astoria, and frown disapprovingly; they never did last.
“Me and Astoria are…” He scratched the back of his neck, trying to find the right words to explain how he felt about her. “I love her.” He said simply, smiling a little, “I suppose people will probably disapprove, seeing as we haven’t known each other for all that long, but… She’s brilliant, I’ve never met anyone like her.” Laughing a little, he looked down and shook his head, “I suppose things might have turned out differently, but once we found out the twins were on the way, things just got better and better.”
Laughing again, he blushed slightly, realising what he had just admitted to Katy, who he hadn’t seen for years. It really was like he had seen her just the day before. “So yeah, anyway Roxy’s being really great, her and Astoria get along really well. Fred… not so much.” He pulled a face and shrugged, “I’m just hoping he’ll come around.” Shrugging, he took another sip of his butterbeer. “Apart from that I’ve just been keeping the shop going, I was married to Angelina, like I said, and I guess we were happy, but things just…” He shook his head, “It doesn’t really matter.” Smiling again, he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

“Oh, good.” She said quietly, immediately relieved. Her mind registered a moment later what he had just revealed, and her eyes went wide with excitement. “What-did you just say? Arthur and Anastasia. It’s both, we’re having both-one of each a boy and a girl?!” Astoria couldn’t help but laugh with glee. They were okay, they were having a boy and a girl and she couldn’t help but, love George more then she already did. She didn’t even think it was physically possible. She smiled at his, kissing his temple softly. “I love you three too.”
“Sorry to interrupt..” The nurse muttered shyly looking at them both. “I need to run things by you. Ms. Greengrass you will be discharged in 48 hours and you are required bed rest. We are scheduling a c-section at 37 weeks since you’re at high risk. You need to relax, do not get up, do not move unless it’s to the bathroom, and absolutely no sex.”
George listened intently as the nurse spoke, nodding at each instruction with a solemn expression; nothing in the world was going to hurt Astoria and their twins, and if George had to tie her down to the bed to keep them safe, then so help him he would.
Of course at the Nurses last statement he couldn’t help but chuckle, wrapping an arm around Astoria’s shoulders and kissing her forehead. “I’m sure we can work something out.” Seeing both Astoria and the Nurse’s expressions he turned indignant, “I was kidding!” He paused and looked down, kissing Astoria again and then turning back to the nurse, “I’ll make sure she’s looked after.” His hand back on her stomach, he smiled at Astoria, “You understand? From now on you do as I say, and I say do what she says.” He grinned and turned back to the nurse. “What about apparition? I presume not, can she floo back home or will I need to drive her.” George didn’t own his own car, so he would have to borrow or buy one to get here home if she couldn’t floo.
